Amazon has been hit out by Donald Trump in a call on the “US Post Office” to increase prices.

He appears to be referring to the Postal Service of the United States, which he also claimed of becoming “dumber and poorer.”

The President of the United States made his remarks via Twitter, saying: “Why is the United States Post Office, which is losing many billions of dollars a year, while charging Amazon and others so little to deliver their packages, making Amazon richer and the Post Office dumber and poorer? Should be charging MUCH MORE!”

Amazon shares were not affected very badly in before-the-bell trading, dropping by only 0.35 percent.

The attack of Trump on one of the biggest companies in the world arises weeks after he introduced a series of tax reforms, including reducing the rate of corporate income tax from 35 percent to 21 percent.
