  • Atlanta, GA

  • Boston, MA
  • Chicago, IL
  • Columbus, OH
  • Dallas, TX
  • Denver, CO
  • Indianapolis, IN

The cities are vying for the project that is worth $5bn in the hope that it will draw in jobs and other benefits for the economy. Amazon has said that it could generate as many as 50,000 high-paying positions.

Various cities have also attempted to publicly woo Amazon. In Birmingham, Alabama, giant delivery boxes of Amazon were dotted across the city in an attempt to tempt the company to pick the location, while Tucson Arizona sent a 21-foot tall cactus to the current headquarters of Amazon in Seattle.

Neither city was able to make it to the shortlist.
