According to a USA Today report, the iPhone of Apple was once again hailed as the best-selling tech product of the year. What is more remarkable is that the sales numbers were far superior compared to any other tech product that is included on the list.
The runner-up on 2017’s list was not even close. USA Today reports that Samsung followed Apple with its combined sales of the Note 8 and Galaxy S8 phones. However, Samsung only sold a measly 33 million in comparison.
As a matter of fact, Apple sold more units of the iPhone compared to the next four items that are included the best-selling list combined. The company’s sales were a complete blowout.
Other sales numbers that are worth mentioning are the Nintendo Switch at 15 million, the Apple Watch at 20 million, and Amazon Echo Dot at 24 million.
One significantly important detail is that the sales numbers of Apple include all models of the company’s new phones namely: the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X.
It is still not clear exactly how many units of each iPhone were sold in 2017. However, Bloomberg reports that the demand for the more expensive iPhone X is weaker than expected and that some customers seem to prefer the models that are cheaper.
Still, the total number of sales in 2017 is gigantic. It falls just short of the all-time record of Apple from 2015 when it sold 230 million units.
