When you are on a long-haul flight, you will do pretty much anything to make the flight more bearable. Whether that’s investing in beauty essentials, eating the right food, or avoiding this one drink in particular: pretty much whatever it takes to make your journey less painful.
And thanks to Gilbert Ott, a hack blogger who shared with God Save The Points, the amount of space that you have on an economy flight should now be one less thing to be concerned about.
Apparently, with an app which is called the ExpertFlyer, you are in with a much better opportunity of bagging a whole row of seats all to yourself. Here is how it works.
Ott revealed that the application ‘allows users to view up-to-the-moment seating charts and, better yet, allows users to set alerts for when and if their ideal seat pops up’ so that they can keep an eye on where the vacant seats are located in the plane.
By taking advantage of the seat alerts, users can continually change their chosen seat (something that Ott compares to ‘playing musical chairs’) right up to the minute of the departure, to make sure that they are in with the best chance of being right next to an empty one.
He adds that making use of the app is ‘all about execution’, and that if the best seats – extra leg room, window seats, etc. – are not available to begin with, users must be patient and wait it out.
May the odds be ever in your favour.
