Not being content with running numerous successful companies, Elon Musk, the renowned entrepreneur, has made a niche sideline investing in novelty products, the latest of which is a flamethrower that is Instagram-worthy that costs $500 (£351).

However, anyone who is hoping to get their hands on the flamethrower of Elon Musk has already missed their window of opportunity as the entire 20,000 have already sold out.

And it netted the serial inventor sales that are worth $10m in less than one week.

Branded under the name of the Boring Company, the latest business of Elon Musk, the flamethrowers are the newest addition to a line that began with hats. The hats also sold out. Musk insists that the flamethrowers are not related to the zombie apocalypse.

People can see the flamethrower in action on the Instagram feed of Elon Musk.

“Buy an overpriced Boring Company fire extinguisher! You can definitely buy one for less elsewhere, but this one comes with a cool sticker, and the button is conveniently riiiight [sic] above,” stated the sales spiel. Clearly, people loved the joke.

Perhaps Musk is looking for some satisfaction in getting products shifted, whatever they may be as Musk is, after all, running into delay after delay in getting the Tesla Model 3 on to the roads.
