The UK government will begin the registration process to estimate the interest of EU citizens in British residency as the nation leaves the EU.
Around 3,000,000 EU citizens are living in the UK, and the Guardian publication said they would be asked to disclose their interest in the documentation which would let them remain and work inside the country after 2019 when Brexit is scheduled to occur.
The legal state and rights of EU citizens are one of the major issues within the morass of Britain’s exit from the alliance, which started with talks between negotiators in Brussels on Monday.
Britain’s interior ministry was not available to respond.
London would give citizens living in Britain the same rights that they have now as it leaves the EU, the Financial Times reported.
