Deadline reports that the social media giant, Facebook, will soon be home to the half-hour dramedy series that stars Elizabeth Olsen. The said show is still untitled. However, it was originally known as “Widow” and is presumed to be about a young widow who is reconnecting with people that are from her past while dealing with the loss of her husband. The creator of the said show Kit Steinkellner (Z: The Beginning of Everything). Also, Lizzy Weiss, the Switched at Birth creator, will serve as its showrunner.
Quite a number of sports content are featured on the Facebook Watch both reality shows and games with pro athletes. However, last year, Facebook said that it was ready to spend $1 billion for original programming in 2018. So far, the social media titan has announced a drama that is produced by Kerry Washington that is called Five Points and a show that is called Sacred Lies that is produced by two of the people who are behind True Blood. Olsen is another important get for Facebook, which is attempting to compete with other video streaming platforms like Hulu and Netflix. Olsen informed Deadline: “I couldn’t be prouder of the group we have brought together for this show.”
“Kit’s story has been near and dear to me for years and I can’t wait to share our dark, funny, and complicated show with the world.”
Ten episodes of the series have been ordered by Facebook. However, there is still no word yet on when the series might air.
