A fresh report from Nikkei hints that Apple will produce three new iPhones in 2018, including a 6.3-inch iPhone that will have an OLED screen.
The $999 iPhone X of Apple switched from a traditional LCD panel to a more superior OLED screen, which is more brighter, colourful, and energy efficient. Apple continued to make use of LCD panels on the new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
Nikkei said that Apple will launch 5.8-inch and 6.3-inch iPhone variants that have OLED technology, in addition to a new 6.1-inch model with the traditional LCD display. The iPhone X already has a 5.8-inch screen, meaning that the 6.3-inch model would be much more larger.
Nikkei added that the new LCD model would have a metal back, which insinuates that it might not feature newer technologies such as wireless charging. Apple shifted to glass panels on the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X in 2017 to support the said feature.
Apple is yet to issue a statement regarding the matter.
